Quite the Coincidence...

One month ago I updated my blog, "Last Update Pre-Luke"... Now I have an almost 1 month old, time has flown, and I have loved every minute of being a Mommy! Each day I find myself a little sad for just a moment that he is already one day older, a little longer, a little heavier... but then he will smile or coo and I am happily distracted by how much he is changing and what milestone we will have to look forward to next!

I have been thinking about writing a post about the birth and of course posting pictures but it is more therapeutic writing right now more than anything, and it will be a while before I am ready to post it.

However, I am ready to show off some of my newborn photos that we got made of Luke!! :)

 

I will post the birth story when I am ready, but I will add other things as they happen! :)

Final update pre-Luke!

Thought I would share that I was 1 cm dilated at my last appointment.. But the only known for sure thing is that I have until September 21st before they will start the process of inducing labor.. Hopefully, Luke will be the one to choose to come and I won't have to be induced!! I would really hate that! Any-who, we are READY and very excited..and a little nervous! :)

Any time now!

We went for my check up yesterday, which begins the weekly visits until Luke arrives! Everything was fine... my blood pressure was still up but okay.. Luke's little heartbeat was perfect and he is head down and ready to go... hopefully in the next 2 weeks but I was told by my mean ol' midwife (just kidding M) it could still be another 5 weeks.. and to mentally prepare haha I don't want to think about that!!
I think its funny how as a doula I know about this whole process and the topics that we have been going over this whole pregnancy, but to be going through it myself for the first time as a mom, I just don't know the same stuff... like I know what I would tell my client, but I still look for my own support and advice as a mom and not a doula. Its a little weird!

READY TO POP!

August brings so many great things like the campground (for those of you that live here in Catawba) My homemade Rhubarb pie, homemade ice cream, family and friends, and childhood memories but I am especially looking forward to meeting my little guy! If not in August, the very beginning of September! Although, an August birthday would be wonderful, for many reasons, top of the list: MY CANKLES! haha

We are getting very excited and anxious, I think Brett is a little more nervous than me because he is terrified of hearing, "ITS BABY TIME" haha I know I still have a few more weeks, but that man is nervous! Its cute though!

I would love to say that the nursery is ALL DONE, and Luke ready.. but I can't.. and it is stressing me out!
We have unfortunately become victims to fleas, not a gross infestation but we have a few lingerers.. and surprisingly.. NO they did not come from our cat, because he has never been outside, strictly a house cat! We figured out that Brett and I have brought them in on us, mostly Brett though.. haha
We have done just about everything short of shaving the cat and moving!But you can see my frustration because I cant get anything out baby related because we are having to spray for fleas, and I don't want to have to worry about those chemicals! So it is very upsetting for me and my cat because he is banished from our bed, the nursery (which is his new favorite) and he has to be put up at night... not to mention the 5 baths that I had to give him in the last 3 weeks (I am totally aware that is entirely too many for cat) but it had to be done, and he still has the little buggers!

Anywho.. I have been able to get just about everything we need for the baby, thanks to the awesome ladies that came to my baby showers!
Here is a project I did yesterday for his shades.. took 3 hours total and no sewing!

I am obsessed with chevron!!! haha

A little behind!!

So, I am running a little behind on posts here lately!! Time has flown by!! I am now 33 weeks pregnant and time is still just getting away from me!

Health updates: We are still doing well! I have gained some weight, but pretty much its all belly! These last 2 visits my blood pressure was creeping up just a little so I was put on a supplement for that, and Luke's heart rate was 130 rather than the usual 150's but we think he was just napping!!

Luke certainly has grown and moves around A LOT! Brett got to feel him hiccup ( he didn't like that too much, he said it felt weird!)

I am anxious and excited about it being time already to meet Luke, but at the same time I am really cherishing these last few weeks (even with this heat, I miss the rain!) I have been counting down since I was a little girl until it was the right time to get pregnant, and here it is just about time to meet this little guy! I am  a little disappointed that it has went by so quickly, but I can't be too disappointed, everything has gone so perfectly and we have been so healthy that my excitement outweighs the disappointment!

On another note: We had another ultrasound done, and it showed us our little guys, face and fingers, and feet! I am so in love with his cheeks and nose!! He is just so handsome!! :)

Its been a while!

It has been over a month since I updated this, shame on me!

We have been busy!!

We went to the beach to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary!

Brett took some pictures of my baby bump! :)

It is definately getting out there!

 

We made a "quick trip" to Arkansas, to pick up a tractor part for a friend..

13 hours there, and 19 hour back!

We had a tire blow out, and a huge storm in Atlanta! It was fun though!

 

During the first three weeks of June I have had the pleasure and honor of partaking in wedding festivities for my best friend, now.. Sylvia Wright!! (Congratulations!)

As for Luke, he has been busy also!

He is kicking and moving about... Brett finally got to feel it and see it!

Yes, there is visable movement and I was so excited to see it..

Also, he has hiccupped for the first time, that was a neat feeling!

I am approximately 29 weeks, in my third trimester, and he is the size of a squash.

 

 

I had my glucose test, which was not as bad aas I thought or was told it would be.. I went thirsty to make sure I wouldn't have a problem gulping it down!

I don't have the results back, yet!

 

Also, I won a gift certificate to WOMBMART, that I am so excited about!

I was hoping to do the placenta encapuslation, and was looking into it, and was concerned about the price... but I entered the giveaway (even though I never win anything)

AND WON! I recieved 50% off the fee!

 

 

As for Baby shower info: I ahve been asked about this a lot lately!

(I hope it isn't considered rude to post this)
I will be having multiple showers so I can include all those that want to attend, due to my BIG family, Brett's BIG family, and our friends!

Anywho, we are just so excited to be experiencing this pregnancy.. it has been truly wonderful and even more than I hoped for, and I am kind of sad to realize it is almost over, even though I can't wait to meet my beautiful little boy! :)

Little update: I am approximately 22 weeks and 3 days.

I have been feeling him flutter about for the last week and a half!

It is an awesome feeling!!

 

I have been craving PIZZA!

Making Changes!!

I was attempting to make some changes on my blog, when my cat unplugged, yes unplugged my laptop the other night... so instead of waiting for my computer to come back on I decided to go do something else! Now it is my exam day and I have taken 3 exams out of 4 and I am tired!! So... I will finish my changes as soon as my eyes and brain have recovered from the 354 questions that I have answered on this dang computer today!! :(

Got a Secret, and I have to keep it!

Until saturday anyways, which will feel like YEARS!! haha

One of us was right, one was wrong.. Regardless, we are very much excited and in love with this little person!!

This was the first image we got.. Didn't like the camera very much at first haha very shy like his/ hers mommy and daddy!

Eventually...

Little guy/ girl relaxed a little for the camera! If you notice.. both arms are behind the head and has both legs crossed...

 

Makes me think, I am going to be pregnant for a LONG time, haha not looking to bad in there, for him/ her to want out! haha

 

I got a little teary eyed, and avoided eye contact with Brett because I knew if I looked at him, I would full-on cry... In the car later, he tells me he teared up a little, and had a headache from smiling so much.. <3

 

We are so in love with this little person already.. I can only imagine meeting him/ her! So exciting..

 

Saturday is the big gender reveal party.. so stay tuned!!

Baby Little's Heartbeat!

 

March 12: 14 weeks 5 days...

Brett and I got to hear he/she's little heartbeat for the first time :)

 

 

 

 

Everything seems to be in order, and we are both healthy!

We go March 28th to find out if we are having a boy or girl! So exciting...

Because then I can start shopping! WOOHOO!!

First trimester screen

Everything went well! Baby Little sure has grown from last time! And he/she was waving at me!! :) so sweet!!
Because Brett couldn't come I chose not to hear the heartbeat.. So I have to wait :P
March 12- prenatal, and heartbeat appointment!
March 28- gender scan!

Slacking!!

It has been a while since I posted!! I have tons of excuses, none of which anyone really wants to hear... school, work, morning sickness, injured cow.. you know the usuals.. haha

As of Monday, Febuary 11 I was 10 weeks.. and my "morning sickness" which is basically just waves of nausea has been pretty steady..
Woke up Monday, at about 2 am with my common stomach issues, except it really didnt let up al night.. about 6 am I finally woke Brett teling him I felt like I was going to faint, instead I got "sick" which I feel is totally unrelated to morning sickness, because it was basically out of pain.. which I later talked to my midwife about.. She said it sounds like my blood sugar dropping in my sleep, so Ive been told to eat a high protein snack RIGHT before bed!

At my appointment I found out I have lost 3lbs.. which ironically puts me at the lowest weight since like 2010, even though I am pregnant.. haha So.. Ive learned, who needs weight watchers, just get pregnant! haha

I go Febuary 20th for the first trimester screening, pray everything goes well!
I also go March 13th and will hopefully get to hear the heartbeat!!

Also, I have gender reveal party plans underway! Hopefully timing will work out right! :)

Doctors office called...

All my labs came back normal, except for my vitamin D.. so I am to start taking that 2x a week for 12 weeks... Other than that everything is normal, including my thyroid levels!

Boo for having something else to take..
but YAY for everything looking normal!!

We are having difficuties with the photos.. they are distorted.. hopefully by week 8, I can put one up of me!!

Week 7..

I am 7 weeks, which means the baby is:

The size of a blueberry!

It is producing up to 100 brain cells per minute!!

Little Albert Einstein Baby!

It is developing tooth buds, which is what will turn into "TEETHING"!

 

It has developed its third and FINAL set of kidneys!

 

and finally the baby is making Mommy crave SPICY food!

Finally, January 15th!

January 1st-15th felt like 100 years!! But it finally came and we got to see our little bean for the first time!! <3. Little heart justa' beating away!! :)

Which has lead to this blog, requested by our awesome Auntie Jo!! Love ya! :)

Brett, We are having a BABY!

The first day of 2013 was a day I will ALWAYS remember, and not because of some awful hangover... (DAD!) I will always remember because that is the day that the stick I pee'd on actually went from blank to positive! I didn't know what I was looking at, at first! Then the shakes set in, in my hands and my voice!! Brett is still making fun of me!

Well, let me back up first... December 29th I woke up from a very vivid dream that I had had a beautiful baby girl! There was a roller coaster, some cousins that I don't see very often, and me topless in a church?? haha
Then another odd dream the next night! Another little girl, a haunted house, and hagred (sp?) from harry potter!
And finally, the 31st I had a dream about a little girl, in trouble, there was an old abandoned house, guns and a burglar!
When I woke up from that third dream, I knew something was weird and decided to test!

Which leads me to another reason I won't forget this day!
I am barely awake, take the test, its blank like normal.. I roll my eyes and think to myself, "why do I even bother?" then i turn around to look in the cabinet above the toilet, when I knock my favorite nail polish into the toilet!!! I say, "what a great start to 2013, putting my hand in toilet water! Geez!" When I turn to wash my hands is when I saw it!!! The positive sign, which I was still unsure about, because I had never seen it in real life before!!

So I wash my hands and brush my hair and teeth, and call out for Brett... Which he mimics now, as a 99 year old ladies shakey voice, because I was so FRIKKIN nervous! As I come out of the bathroom, I say Brett, we are having a baby!!! To which he replies, "really? are you ok? why are you shaking?" and hugs me! I was unsure of his excitement/ nervousness, cause he doesn't show that often.

About 25 minutes later, I get 5 missed calls while I was blow drying my hair.. I get the voicemail and its Brett, FRANTIC.
"ALL THE COWS ARE OUT!!! GET OVER HERE AND HELP ME"
So I am running around getting dressed.. my hair still full blown! haha
Goofball had left the gate open, so aparently he was a little more frazzled than I had realized!! :)
But that was my January 1st!! WOO-HOO! :D
